When things stop moving

Releasing inner blocks

… and why understanding alone is not enough

You know what you want. Often you even know what to do. And still it does not happen — for weeks, sometimes for years. This page explains honestly what an inner block is, how to recognise one, and what can genuinely change. No miracle promises — but a concrete first step.

What an inner block really is

A block is not a thing stuck inside you. Going by everything the research on habits and perception shows, it is something less spectacular — and more stubborn: a learned expectation. At some point a part of you learned: when I show myself, it gets uncomfortable. When I start, it will not be enough. Ever since, that expectation has been doing its job — automatically, quickly, and without asking you.

That is why a block does not feel like a decision but like a wall: you want to move forward, and something in you holds against it. That is not a character flaw and not a weakness. It is a pattern that once protected you — and stands in your way today.

A block is rarely a no to your goal. Most of the time it is an old yes to your safety.

How to recognise a block

Three scenes of the kind that come up in coaching again and again — illustrative, not client quotes. If one of them feels familiar, read on.

“That tab has been open for three weeks”

The application, the registration, that one message — everything is ready. All you would have to do is press send. Instead you tidy the kitchen. Again.

“It gets heavy just before the finish line”

You start strong — and it always tips at the same point: just before things get serious, you lose interest, find reasons, become “realistic”.

“I know exactly what my problem is”

You analysed your pattern long ago, read the books, talked to friends. You have understood a lot. Little has changed.

Why understanding alone is not enough

The third scene is the most important one, because it explains why so many attempts fail: the automatically working parts of our thinking do not learn through arguments. They learn through repetition, context and emotional involvement — along the same paths on which the block came into being. An insight does not reach them, however clear it may be.

And there is a second problem: we are poor witnesses of ourselves. In experiments, people confidently justify decisions they demonstrably never made. That first “I know what my problem is” is therefore a hypothesis — not a finding.

You cannot find your own blind spot. That is not a weakness — it is its definition.

This is exactly why a second view from outside helps: not to explain something you do not already sense, but to shine a light where your own view systematically cannot reach.

What “releasing” realistically means

“Releasing a block” sounds like the push of a button. The honest version is a path of three steps — unspectacular, but walkable.

Name the pattern precisely

Not “that’s just how I am”, but concretely: in which situation does it appear, with which feeling, with which excuse? The sharper the look, the smaller the wall.

Check triggers and exceptions

When does the pattern kick in — and when, actually, does it not? The exceptions are the lever: they show under which conditions you can already do what you do not trust yourself to do.

Start small, repeat, keep going

New behaviour becomes stable not through one big moment but through many small ones. In one study, a new behaviour took a median of about 66 days — and missing a single day did not measurably set the process back.

Where the free first analysis comes in

Exactly at the blind spot. You describe your situation — I use TimeWaver technology to look into your information field: which patterns are showing resonance there according to our model, and which area of life needs more attention than you are giving it. Not as a certainty from outside, but as a second view next to your own.

You receive three personal impulses with a concrete starting point — within 48 hours, free and with no obligation. What you do with them is up to you.

Frequently asked questions

What is an inner block?

In the coaching sense: a learned expectation that works automatically — a pattern in perception, habit and decision that once protected you and stands in your way today. It is not a thing stuck somewhere inside you, and not a character flaw. Typical signs: you keep postponing the same step, things reliably tip at the same point, or you have long understood your pattern without anything changing.

Why can’t I simply think my block away?

Because the automatically working parts of our thinking do not learn through arguments, but through repetition, context and emotional involvement. An insight does not reach them — they never came into being through agreement. Understanding is a good start, but change happens along the same paths on which the pattern was learned.

How long does it take to release an inner block?

A fixed number would be dishonest. From habit research we know: in one study, a new behaviour took a median of about 66 days to feel automatic — with a range from 18 to over 250 days. What matters is not perfection but repetition: missing a single day did not measurably set the process back.

What does the information field have to do with blocks?

TimeWaver works with a model in which personal patterns are viewed as information. The analysis translates these patterns into understandable hints and a concrete next step — as a second view next to your own assessment, not as an oracle. The most interesting part is where the two diverge: the area you yourself see least clearly.

Is this therapy?

No. QuantumSoul is coaching and personal development work — not medicine. It is about perception, habit and decision in everyday life, not about diagnosis or treatment. If you have health concerns, please consult a doctor or therapist.
